Terms of Use
Last updated: 28 September 2026
These Terms govern access to and use of c7dev.com and the APIs and technical services provided through C7DEV.
C7DEV is operated by Caesar7 Limited, company number 10955766, registered in England and Wales.
By accessing or using C7DEV, you agree to these Terms.
1. C7DEV services
C7DEV provides API gateway, integration, data retrieval and normalisation functionality for Caesar7 software and authorised business clients.
Functionality may include company information, VAT validation, geocoding, mapping, weather information, currency information, network information, artificial-intelligence functionality and other technical services.
Some endpoints may be publicly accessible. Other endpoints require an access token or other authorisation.
Publication or documentation of an endpoint does not imply unrestricted public access or permission to use it outside its intended purpose.
2. Authorised use
You may use C7DEV only:
- for lawful purposes;
- in accordance with these Terms;
- for the intended purpose of the relevant endpoint;
- using credentials you are authorised to use; and
- in accordance with any separate agreement between you and Caesar7.
You must not:
- bypass or attempt to bypass authentication or access controls;
- publish, transfer, sell or disclose private access credentials;
- use credentials belonging to another person or organisation without authorisation;
- interfere with, probe, attack or overload C7DEV;
- deliberately circumvent rate limits or usage restrictions;
- use the service to obtain or process information unlawfully;
- harvest API responses for unrelated bulk-data collection;
- resell access to restricted endpoints without written authorisation; or
- use C7DEV in a way that infringes third-party rights or applicable law.
3. Access credentials
Where an endpoint requires an access token or other credential, that credential is confidential.
Users are responsible for keeping credentials secure and for requests made using credentials issued to them or their applications.
Caesar7 may revoke, replace or restrict credentials where reasonably necessary for security, misuse prevention, service integrity or compliance.
4. API data and permitted use
C7DEV may obtain, transform or normalise information supplied by external data sources and services.
Information returned through C7DEV must be used only for legitimate purposes related to the function for which the relevant endpoint is provided.
Users must not:
- compile API responses into unrelated commercial databases;
- use returned information for unsolicited marketing where prohibited;
- republish restricted third-party information;
- misrepresent data as originating from Caesar7 where it originates from another source; or
- use information contrary to applicable law or third-party usage restrictions.
5. Data processing
C7DEV operates primarily as a transient API and normalisation layer.
C7DEV does not retain API request or response payloads as a chronological request history. Some endpoints cache lookup results and related request identifiers, or store map tiles and source datasets, to provide the service. Files submitted through authorised deployment or documentation-upload endpoints are stored until replaced or removed.
POST request bodies are not logged by C7DEV.
Information required to perform a requested API operation may be transmitted to an external API or service provider. C7DEV does not control the independent processing or retention practices of such providers.
Users should not submit information that is unnecessary for the requested operation. Further details are set out in the Privacy Policy.
6. Third-party services and data
Some C7DEV functionality relies on external APIs, registries, datasets, infrastructure or other services.
Availability, accuracy, permitted usage and response formats may therefore depend on third parties outside Caesar7's control.
Third-party information remains subject to the rights and restrictions of the relevant source or rights holder.
Caesar7 does not acquire ownership of third-party information merely because it has been retrieved, transformed or normalised through C7DEV.
7. API responses
C7DEV frequently converts data from different sources into a common structure.
We aim to provide reliable results, but information returned by external sources may be inaccurate, incomplete, delayed, unavailable or subsequently changed.
C7DEV responses are provided for informational and technical use and should not be treated as a guarantee, certification or professional opinion unless explicitly stated otherwise.
Users are responsible for determining whether a response is suitable for their intended use.
8. Artificial-intelligence functionality
Authenticated C7DEV functionality may transmit prompts, documents or other supplied content to an external service in order to generate the requested output.
C7DEV does not retain such submitted content as an application-level request history after processing.
External services may have their own data-processing and retention practices, which are outside Caesar7's direct control.
Users must ensure that they are authorised to submit any content sent through such functionality.
9. Availability and changes
C7DEV is provided on an "as available" basis.
We may modify, restrict, replace, suspend or discontinue an endpoint where reasonably necessary, including due to:
- technical changes;
- security requirements;
- upstream-service changes;
- excessive or abusive use;
- legal or regulatory requirements; or
- operational or commercial reasons.
We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability of any particular endpoint.
10. Usage limits and costs
Some endpoints may be subject to technical limits, quotas or external service costs.
Applicable limits or commercial arrangements may be agreed separately with authorised clients.
Users must not deliberately evade limits or technical controls.
11. Intellectual property
C7DEV software, interface design, documentation and original materials are owned by Caesar7 or its licensors.
These Terms do not transfer ownership of C7DEV or its associated intellectual property.
Third-party data and materials remain the property of their respective owners where applicable.
12. Disclaimer
To the fullest extent permitted by law, C7DEV is provided without any guarantee that:
- information supplied by external sources is complete or accurate;
- an endpoint will always be available;
- a third-party service will remain unchanged; or
- a response will be suitable for a particular commercial or technical decision.
Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded.
13. Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Subject to any separate written agreement, Caesar7 will not be liable for indirect or consequential loss arising solely from unavailable, delayed or inaccurate information supplied by an external data source or service.
Any conflicting liability provisions in a separate written agreement with an authorised client take precedence over this section.
14. Suspension or termination
Caesar7 may suspend or terminate access where reasonably necessary because of:
- breach of these Terms;
- unauthorised use;
- credential compromise;
- security concerns;
- unlawful activity;
- material misuse of API data; or
- risk to C7DEV or another system.
15. Changes to these Terms
These Terms may be updated to reflect changes to C7DEV, applicable law or service requirements.
The current version will be published on c7dev.com.
16. Governing law
These Terms and any non-contractual obligations arising from them are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Subject to mandatory legal rights, the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over disputes arising from these Terms.
