Privacy Policy
Last updated: 28 September 2026
C7DEV is operated by Caesar7 Limited, company number 10955766, registered in England and Wales.
This Privacy Policy explains how information is processed when c7dev.com and the C7DEV APIs are used.
1. About C7DEV
C7DEV provides API gateway, integration, data retrieval and normalisation services used by Caesar7 software and authorised business clients.
Some endpoints may be publicly accessible. Other endpoints, particularly those involving restricted, resource-intensive, sensitive or paid services, require an access token or other authorisation.
2. Information processed by C7DEV
C7DEV is designed primarily to process technical, company, business and API request data.
Depending on the endpoint, this may include:
- company registration numbers;
- VAT numbers;
- company names and business addresses;
- country codes;
- postal addresses submitted for geocoding or similar services;
- IP addresses submitted for network or location lookup;
- geographic coordinates;
- text, prompts or files submitted through authenticated functionality; and
- other parameters necessary to perform the requested API operation.
C7DEV does not create profiles of individuals from this information and does not use API request contents for advertising or marketing.
3. API payload retention
C7DEV processes API requests to provide the requested functionality and does not maintain a chronological history of API request and response payloads.
Some endpoints cache lookup results and related request identifiers, including VAT-validation results, to improve performance and reduce repeated requests to external providers. Map tiles and source datasets may also be stored locally to provide the service.
POST request bodies are not logged by C7DEV. Prompts, text and documents submitted for AI processing are not stored by C7DEV as a request history after processing.
Files submitted through authorised deployment or documentation-upload endpoints are extracted and stored to provide that functionality, and may remain until replaced or removed.
Information required to fulfil a request may be transmitted to an external service used to provide the requested functionality.
4. Technical request information
Normal web and API infrastructure may process limited technical information necessary to receive and respond to a request, such as:
- source IP address;
- user-agent information;
- requested path or endpoint, potentially including query-string parameters depending on infrastructure configuration;
- HTTP method;
- request date and time; and
- other standard connection or security metadata.
C7DEV does not log POST request bodies.
Technical metadata may be processed for service delivery, security, abuse prevention, troubleshooting and infrastructure operation.
5. External API and service providers
Some C7DEV endpoints rely on external APIs, data sources or technical service providers.
Where necessary to perform a requested operation, the information supplied for that request may be transmitted to an appropriate external provider.
C7DEV does not control the independent processing or retention practices of those external providers. Their handling of information is governed by their own contractual terms, privacy policies and legal obligations.
Users should therefore avoid submitting unnecessary confidential or personal information to an API endpoint.
6. Personal data
C7DEV is not intended as a service for storing personal data and does not maintain customer-profile or API-payload databases containing personal information.
However, some technical information processed in operating an internet service, such as an IP address, may be treated as personal data under applicable law in certain circumstances.
Where such information is processed, Caesar7 processes it only as reasonably necessary to provide, secure and operate the service or comply with applicable legal obligations.
Where an authorised client chooses to submit information containing personal data through an API endpoint, the client is responsible for ensuring that it is entitled to do so.
7. Local storage
The c7dev.com website may store a display-theme preference in the visitor's browser using local storage.
This preference is used solely to remember the selected light or dark display theme.
C7DEV does not use this preference for advertising, behavioural profiling or cross-site tracking.
8. Retention
C7DEV does not retain API request or response payloads as a chronological application-level history. Operational caches, locally stored datasets and map tiles are retained according to the relevant endpoint's cache or storage behaviour. Deployment and documentation files may remain until replaced or removed.
Limited technical infrastructure metadata may be retained where necessary for operation, security or troubleshooting and is kept only for as long as reasonably required for those purposes.
Business correspondence and contractual records may be retained separately where necessary to administer Caesar7's relationships with clients or comply with legal obligations.
9. Security
Restricted C7DEV endpoints use access controls such as access tokens where appropriate.
Users must keep access credentials confidential and take reasonable measures to prevent unauthorised access.
We apply technical and organisational measures appropriate to the nature of the service, although no internet-based service can guarantee absolute security.
10. International processing
External providers used to fulfil API requests may operate in different countries.
Where applicable data-protection law requires safeguards for an international transfer of personal data, appropriate transfer arrangements are used where required.
11. Your rights
Where Caesar7 processes personal data relating to you, applicable law may provide rights including access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection and portability.
These rights depend on the circumstances and are subject to statutory conditions and exemptions.
Requests can be sent to the contact address below.
12. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to C7DEV, applicable law or our operational practices.
The current version will be published on c7dev.com.
